A great portion of today's youth lack the confidence and encouragement needed
to trust in their own words. They find themselves stuck between their peers and their parents.
As they move closer to adolescence, their peer group becomes increasingly important
in their search of self identity,causing an intense need for belonging. They soon
experience strong desires to experiment with new behaviors in their attempts to belong.

Poetri's classes are conducted with six main goals and objectives.
• develop the skills needed for spoken communication
• increase appreciation and enjoyment of free verse
• become a more effective speaker
• develop skills in listening
• apply constructive verbal and nonverbal feedback
• find personal ways of expression

From GRAD school to GRADE school!
Poetri's workshops can be designed for nearly all school ages. All workshops are sculpted to validate
the personal experience and opinions of each student. The state of today's youth is not only unpredictable, it is
confusing, overwhelming, and at times, discouraging. Often, children know how and what they are experiencing, but
lack the skills needed to communicate it. They soon find themselves with the "nobody understands me" syndrome.
