This workshop is one of the most energized of Poetri's Poetry Workshop. Poetri expounds on the fundamentals of performance skills - position, voice projection, gesture, movement - not only relevant to poem performance, but also to manifestation of self in everyday life. The students will recite their own poems demonstrating the use of the learned performance skills.

Inspire your students!

Poetri provides for instructors several exercises that encourage creative writing in and out of the classrooms with a great focus on personal memories and their relation to artistic discoveries. Through a series of exercises that stimulate the imagination, trainers learn how to catch the moment of inspiration and develop it, battle writer?s block and stage fright, and recapture the childhood joys of making new and wonderful visions out of the most commonplace things. Once obtained, educators can provide these skills to their students.

Laughing While Learning

To tell a STORY
A favorite among Poetri's classses. During this exercise, Poetri performs 5 lines of an original work followed by a writing exercise where students develop their own endings. Students then take turns sharing their different endings with the class. The students will create a group poem, assigning parts and finding motion and emotion for each line, from a collective focal point - a painting, event, or common topic.

Chump or Champ
Poetri takes the class back to the ?good old? days. Who would have ever thought that a simple rock, paper, or scissors could be the deciding factor between a chump and a champ?

SPEAK now or...
Students are given the opportunity to win prizes by effectively answering ?trivia questions.? Demonstrating the use of the learned performance skills, they must persuade the audience that their answer is correct and their opponent?s is not.
